Lille is a young graphic artist from Helsinki. She’s been an early user of Holvi’s webshop and was excited to share her experiences of the service.

What started as a casual sketching hobby for Lille has turned into a freelance career as a graphic designer and a small business selling her unique graphics as printed t-shirts. She began selling the shirts by email through her blog about a year and half ago. Soon this got to be too much work and she started searching for an easy-to-use e-commerce solution.

She looked at available alternatives, but many for e.g. British webshops used PayPal as their main payment method and most Finns don’t have PayPal accounts; while other services just seemed too complicated. Finally, she heard about Holvi through a member of the band Hermanni Turkki. They’ve been using Holvi online store to sell their first LP and recommended the service to her.

So far, Lille has mostly used the online store feature of her Holvi account. She’s found selling via the Holvi webshop to be a great, since order details and payments are registered at the same time automatically.

Since setting up her Holvi webshop, she’s seen an increase in the number of orders and, interestingly, a shift in her customer base – more men are now buying her shirts. She considers this a good thing as she doesn’t wanted her graphics to be pigeon-holed as girls’ prints.

She’s selling the shirts through her own trade name and recently set up a new studio in the Töölö area of Helsinki. She will be focusing more on her freelance career this fall, so we can be sure to expect some new t-shirt designs. Check out Lille-lle’s online store.
